Becoming a parent is a very exciting and joyful time for many people. However, for some, this time is also filled with a mix of emotions and fears about embarking on this next stage in life or it can generate unexpected grief. Major life changes, such as having a baby, are high risk times for developing mental health concerns. When this happens, women are often worried about the impact that this might have on their baby's development, on their ability to parent and on how they are coping.
There are many factors that lead to the development of emotional issues in pregnancy and during the postnatal period. We can support you to explore your unique circumstances and assist you in enhancing your own mental health so that you can be the parent you want to be.
We have a new perinatal psychologist joining our team!
Janine Oostenbroek is an experienced perinatal psychologist joining our practice in Red Hill from July 2024. Janine welcomes new clients to reach out with any concerns related to their experience of fertility, pregnancy, early parenting or loss. Janine has immediate availability on Mondays and Wednesdays, both in clinic and online.
